Some afternoons are made for Champagne … the pop of a cork, golden bubbles, lively conversation and a toast to life’s finer moments….and today, on Champagne Day, who needs a better excuse? 🥂🍾
Champagne has always held a special place in my heart, and one of my proudest honors was being inducted as a Dame Chevalier of the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne, a distinction that deepened my connection to this extraordinary region, its centuries-old traditions and the people who make its wines so exceptional. My passion for Champagne also inspired me to write The Ultimate Guide to Champagne, a multi-award-winning book that celebrates the region’s rich history, exceptional wines, renowned houses and the people whose dedication and craftsmanship continue to shape its legacy.
I’m particularly looking forward to returning to Champagne next year to explore the region’s evolving wine tourism landscape, reconnect with old friends, meet new producers and revisit some of its celebrated Champagne houses. Even after so many visits, the region never ceases to surprise and inspire me, offering new experiences, fresh perspectives and fascinating stories waiting to be discovered.
Today, I raise a glass not only to Champagne, but to the remarkable heritage, craftsmanship, friendships and passion behind every bottle.
Santé! 🥂🍾
